QuickJobs Training Programs – FREE TUITION AND BOOKS!

West Kentucky Community & Technical College has partnered with USEC, local business/industry, the Kentucky Community & Technical College System (KCTCS), and the Kentucky Workforce Investment Network Systems (KY WINS),  to provide FREE short-term, pre-employment training in health physics, welding, HVAC and masonry.

Classes will be provided tuition-free on the WKCTC campus and in the new WKCTC Training Center at Kevil in Ballard County. Books will also be provided at no charge. There is a screening process. There are a limited number of training slots available in each program.  All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.  Other requirements apply by program.

If successfully completed, will result in certificates in health physics, welding, HVAC and masonry. Pre-employment training could lead to employment as a health physics technician in a Department of Energy facility,  as a welders’ helper in a variety of industries, as an environmental control systems servicer in large retail stores or with HVAC contractors, and as a masonry assistant on construction sites.

These programs have been identified as high need in the geographical area.  The programs have been designed to prepare students for work in these areas of interest.
